We get so caught up in the day-to-day grind that we forget to enjoy the present moment. This term refers to our tendency to overvalue future events and outcomes at the expense of the here and now.

People who are Hyperfixated on something can become so obsessed with it that they lose sight of everything else in their life. They may become so consumed by the thing that they’re fixated on that they can’t think about anything else. This can lead to problems in other areas of their life, such as work or school.
