Supervising staff can be a very rewarding and difficult role. You have to be there for your staff when they need your attention, but at the same time you have to ensure that all of your staff are giving their best and giving their 100% because if they aren't then you will find that they will simply stop working. You need to think about how they are feeling and what is going wrong. Sometimes the worst thing that a Supervising Manager can do is to say that it will get easier. Never ever say this, Supervising Staff need to know that they will not succeed unless they put more effort into their work.


As Supervising Staff you need to keep things fresh, you need to challenge them and encourage them to try harder. Sometimes a little criticism can go a long way. Supervising Staff need to have a clear vision of what they want and the goals that they have set themselves. You also need to make sure that your Supervisors are doing their best work so that your staff feel that they can achieve anything.
